Grandma Prisbrey's Bottle Village
Art · Attraction · Weird
A third-acre site at 4595 Cochran St in Simi Valley, California, covered in shrines, wishing wells, mosaic walks, and structures built mostly out of glass bottles. Grandma Prisbrey (real name: Tressa) started building in 1956 because she needed a place to store her pencil collection and couldn’t afford conventional building materials. So she used bottles. Thousands and thousands of bottles. It’s folk art, it’s architecture, and it’s hosted on Weebly, which tells you everything about its marketing budget.
